Technical Composition
Gramoxone Herbicide contains 24% w/w of the active ingredient paraquat dichloride. Paraquat dichloride is a bipyridilium herbicide that works by disrupting the electron transport chain in plants.
Mode of Action
Gramoxone is absorbed by the leaves of the weeds and then translocated throughout the plant. It accumulates in the chloroplasts, which are the plant's "powerhouses". Once it reaches the chloroplasts, paraquat dichloride disrupts the electron transport chain, which prevents the plant from producing energy.
